Preparing Your Business for the Holidays

The holidays affect every business, from retail to services. As copywriters, we find our days tinged with the spirit of winter festivities, from holiday cookie topping articles to writing holiday cards.

It’s the busiest time of year, but also the time when people want to spend time with their families. So what can you do to prepare your business for, or even capitalize on, the holidays?

Here are some tips we have gathered over the years that you may find useful.

  • Put a holiday spin on your products or services with focused messaging.
  • If you have a story of how your business has helped someone in a time of need, now is a great time to share it with appropriate media outlets.
  • Schedule your staff in advance to make sure critical functions are covered but everyone gets the time they need with family.
  • Also schedule marketing activities in advance. Social media, blogs and newsletters can all be scheduled to launch automatically while you are spending time with your own family.
  • Throw a holiday party. Invite industry brethren, clients and potential clients and send them home with a goodie bag full of stocking stuffers and business cards.
  • Give a holiday discount or hold a holiday sale.

Beyond the standard holiday card, these business activities can help you get in touch with your customers and clients in a distinctive way. And remember that the GlobalWrites team is always available to help you with your messaging needs. Ask us how we can help you today.
