Social media has quickly become the best place to market yourself and your products, and there are no signs that trend will slow down any time soon. But considering the average person has access to the web 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when is the best time to post?
Based on scouring numerous published reports and expert articles, here are some basic rules for social media engagement:
Though Twitter is checked more often during the workday time period than Facebook, the best posting times still seem to coincide—meaning staggering posts between the two social media outlets will not gain your post much more visibility.
Consider your audience. Regard lunch hours, work breaks, between-meeting times, and before and after class times. Timing your posts is as easy as thinking about your customers’ patterns.
But above all, consider your content. Posting inappropriate or boring content will not gain you readership even if you post at the most opportune times. But interesting content, no matter when it is posted, will get shared.
