Fresh air, beautiful scenery and a good workout aren’t the only things involved in writing for a hiking guide. When the Colorado Mountain Club Press decided to put out a new pack guide, they needed someone detail-oriented, thorough, and prompt. That’s where I came in.
I hiked Colorado Springs’ infamous Section 16 trail in the middle of summer, taking pages full of notes, mapping my hike with my handheld GPS, and taking professional-looking photos along the way. The result was the article entitled “Section 16–Palmer Red Rock Trail Loop” in The Best Colorado Springs Hikes pack guide.

Michel Godts had a Web site redesign project with Expressly-Yours Yearbooks that was, from start-to-finish, ideal. He wanted to highlight the experience–from client interaction to process to working with the client’s vendor–and asked me to write the story. I interviewed Michel, the client and the client’s vendor about the project and wrote the success story.
