When Horizon Advisors, a wealth management company from Houston, TX, was developing their new website, they enlisted GlobalWrites for copywriting assistance.
Several Horizon Advisors team members had provided the initial copy for the site, but they needed help making their voice consistent. A GlobalWrites team copywriter and SEO expert helped them reach that goal, and also ensured that the copy had search engine optimization (SEO) with friendly hyperlinks, titles, and keywords—some of the major components needed for a company to have a healthy ranking on search engines.
Nothing says “Happy Mother’s Day” like a homemade gift from the kids. And since I’m a mom myself, when H-E-B needed fresh content for their annual Mother’s Day landing page I was at the ready with three fun crafts projects that kids could do with minimal assistance.
First I wrote content for a homemade crafts landing page, including brief introductions to each of the three craft projects.
Second I thoroughly tested each craft project, noting any advice that would help Dad do these crafts with his kids. I wrote detailed yet simple instructions for each project, and added tips.
Finally I created digital illustrations for two of the projects. This made each project even easier for a harried parent to do with their kids. I provided the image files to the client for use on each instruction page.
Thanks to these web pages, there will be many happy moms being given kid-created gifts this Mother’s Day.

Fresh air, beautiful scenery and a good workout aren’t the only things involved in writing for a hiking guide. When the Colorado Mountain Club Press decided to put out a new pack guide, they needed someone detail-oriented, thorough, and prompt. That’s where I came in.
I hiked Colorado Springs’ infamous Section 16 trail in the middle of summer, taking pages full of notes, mapping my hike with my handheld GPS, and taking professional-looking photos along the way. The result was the article entitled “Section 16–Palmer Red Rock Trail Loop” in The Best Colorado Springs Hikes pack guide.
